| Born in 1973 and raised in West Michigan, where I still live today with my husband and pets. Flowers and plants are my first love! During the course of my schooling, I studied horticulture, greenhouse management and landscape design. I was bitten by the shutterbug in 2003, and I've become intently hooked on capturing whatever strikes my eye ever since! I began taking portraits and family gathering photos for profit in early 2006. I try to reflect the beauty I find in life through photo, be it portraits & family photos, flowers from my garden, the wonder of nature. I opened my first website, www.tortoisetownstudios.com in August 2007, and have built several more in recent years. In Fall 2007 my work was published in GoodLife magazine, a Boston area publication. In December 2010, my work was published in an article at Salon.com. Since October 2011, my work is published from time to time in blog posts belonging to the Kent District Library. I was chosen as one of twelve winners in Holland Litho's 2012 Calendar Photo Competition in November 2011. |
